Don’t rub your eyes, friends, this is real…I am actually writting on my blog!

Let me just say that I am way too busy in the summer!  This is no vacation for me.  All that BS about teachers and the whole summer off…I have written 16 chapters worth of lesson plans (and that isn’t all I need for the year) and attended a training session on a new grade program we are piloting this year as well as a workshop at the University of Akron.  Not to mention working 40 hours a week!  My “fun” this summer include dinner out with a couple friends, going to the islands with Nate and my mother, having a garage sale and seeing Nici (who was finally good enough to call!).  Don’t be jealous here, folks, I am sure there is still some fun left for you out there!  Nate and I are going to Akron this weekend though!  Leaving the furballs behind and heading off to one of my favorite places!  Isn’t it sad when Akron ranks up there with Mexico?  LOL.

In other news, I have devoloped a text messaging problem.  I need to go to texters annoymous!  Once I upgraded my plan to unlimited in-texting, it’s been all down hill from there!

Okay, I gotta work tomorrow.  Two more days of this horrid job and then I am free!  Free to go back to school anyway…

To my adoring fans…

Let me just say, yeah Obama!

Let’s kick some Republican ass!  And my dear sister is in her glory!  Nick is such a patience man at times like this.  LOL.

I gotta get my button.  Maybe a yard sign, hard to say how the neighbors will react!  I don’t have any sidewalks out front so it might stick around awhile.

One more day of school!  Thank goodness since it’s going to be around 90 the next couple days!  90 in Ohio?  Come on, we aren’t surprised if it snows in June but 90?  Our bodies just aren’t ready for that.  And add on the humidity, have mercy!  I hope the citizens of Wellington vote for the levy for the new buildings here in November (when we elect Obama) ’cause Señorita needs a building with AC!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I am old (almost 30, folks) and need to go to bed.

Remember, VOTE OBAMA IN ‘08!

Just another thing to do…

Let me apologize to my adoring public (Nici) for the absence of communication via this blog!  I have been SOOOO busy!  Excuses, excuses, right?  And if I didn’t have enough to do, the summer job starts next weekend!   AHHHHH!

Here is a funny story…Becca’s in-laws had a little get together last night.  I had been looking forward to it all week, as their gatherings are always good times.  When I got there, I started snacking on the chips and salsa and was made a delicious piña colada.  I sucked that bad boy down fast and started to feel the effects.  I am a VERY light weight when it comes to drinking and the piña colada was in a large glass.  I was made a second drink and got about a quarter of the way through it and began to feel ill.  The food I was trying to eat was not looking that great so I headed up to the bathroom to crash on the floor.

A parade of people joined me (some with camaras) in the bathroom…my dear Nathan, Becca, Nick and MY MOTHER to see how I was doing.  I was playing with Nick’s man boobies at one point and my mother said she couldn’t believe I was doing that in front of her and I told her to relax I was not going to grab hers!  :)   Well, a while later I throw up and began feeling better and took my migraine medicine.  I think the migraine was the underlying problem to begin with- I just choose to ignore it and go for the booze.  That choice will not be repeated in the future!  The being a light weight didn’t help either!

Hope that was a good laugh for ya and made up for the absence of blogging!  :)

TJ’s hillbilly certificate is on its way in the mail!

My poor baby went to the vet again Friday to have the rest of his fang extracted that he lost (see previous post) and to get his teeth cleaned.  Once they actually got into his mouth, they found his teeth to be in really bad shape and pulled 13 teeth!!!!!!!  Poor kid came home with painkillers.  Here’s a funny thought for you though…he has one fang left on the top and one left on the bottom…but on opposite sides!  He is my tootless wonder.  But, please, don’t ask how much it cost…amazing how much the vet can rack you over the coals!  I can’t even imagine how much it would cost if he had undergone major surgery.  CRAZY!  He is recovering well though!  :)

TJ is officially a hillbilly

A few years ago TJ went in for a teeth cleaning and ended up losing 4 teeth because of cavities!  I come home today and walk through the hallway, see something on the floor, pick it up and it’s a tooth!  A fang none the less.  I then begin prying everyone’s mouth open to see to whom it used to belong.  And it belonged to TJ!  I have no idea how he lost it, but we are going to see the vet tomorrow just in case there is some kind of gum problem as he has had issues before.  Poor kid is going to need dentures after awhile!  I feel so bad for him- he lost an important tooth!  Well, if you get bit at my house, the three fang mark is my Fat Kid!  :)

Thanks for the posts about the “Stimulus Payment”!  I hope it shows- I bought a laptop that now needs paid off!  :)

IRS Stimulus Payments

March 24, 2008 at 6:06 pm | In Uncategorized | 5 Comments

Nate and I got our taxes done by a guy here in town and we were talking about this alleged “IRS Stimulus Payment” that is allegedly going to arrive here in a few months.  The tax man stated that this money comes out of your 2008 tax return.  For example, if your average return is $2,000 and your stimulus payment was $600, your tax return is only $1,400.  Therefore Nate and I decided we would put our stimulus payments into a CD to earn money off of it instead of spending it because it would be money we were used to getting later.

Well, no one else has heard of the stimulus payments as an “advance tax return”.  Does anyone know how this works???  It can’t be “free money” from the government!  What’s the story here?  I got my IRS letter but that doesn’t tell me more than I am eligible for up to $600 and about when the payments will start being sent out.

Let me explain why I stated allegedly above a couple times.  In 2001, President Bush did something along the same lines…I received a letter stating I was to get $300.  So, I headed off to Spain with my Mastercard and spent $300.  When I arrived home 5 weeks later, I found a nice regretful letter letting me know that a mistake had been made and I was no longer receiving this $300.  Did President Bush pay off my Mastercard?  I think not!  So, I will not believe that this “up to $600″ is arriving until it’s in my hand!

Some food for thought…

(Copied and pasted from BarackObama.com)

Senator Barack Obama on Thursday blamed the fragile economy on “careless and incompetent execution” of the Iraq war, imploring voters in this swing state to consider the trickle-down economic consequences of the war as they choose a successor to President Bush.
When you’re spending over $50 to fill up your car because the price of oil is four times what it was before Iraq, you’re paying a price for this war,” Mr. Obama said to an audience at the University of Charleston. “When Iraq is costing each household about $100 a month, you’re paying a price for this war.”

… Mr. Obama arrived in West Virginia for his first trip before the primary on May 13. The state is also likely to be a general election battleground, and Mr. Obama delivered a critique of Senator John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

“No matter what the costs, no matter what the consequences, John McCain seems determined to carry out a third Bush term,” Mr. Obama said. “That’s an outcome America can’t afford. Because of the Bush-McCain policies, our debt has ballooned.”

It’s been awhile…

Well, I haven’t written in awhile as words could not capture the excitement that’s been going on around here!  That was just dripping with sarcasm!!!  Seriously, not much to report.

 Spring Break starts tomorrow!  Yeah!  No big plans here.  Just some family and Nate stuff, a trip to Akron for a National Boards certification meeting (jury’s still out on that adventure) and of course, lesson planning!!!  Gotta get a head on that stuff while I have the time!  Maybe some laying around on the couch and watching “Ugly Betty” and “Roseanne” reruns.

Alrighty, I am outty!  It’s the first day of spring, by the way, and we might get 7 inches of snow tomorrow!  :)   ONLY IN OHIO!!!

Your thoughts Clinton supporters?

Winning in November: Obama Still Stronger Against McCain
New polling in California shows Barack Obama with a 15% lead over John McCain in a hypothetical head-to-head match-up, more than double Hillary Clinton’s lead. According to the poll conducted by Rasmussen, Obama is viewed favorably by 59% of the state’s voters, McCain by 49%, and Clinton by 47%.

YES WE CAN

Artist: Will.I.Am
Song: Yes We Can (Barack Obama Song)

It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.
Yes we can.
It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom.
Yes we can. Yes we can.
It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores
and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness.
Yes we can. Yes we can.
It was the call of workers who organized;
women who reached for the ballots;
a President who chose the moon as our new frontier;
and a King who took us to the mountain-top and pointed the way to the Promised Land.
Yes we can to justice and equality.
(yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can…)

Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.
Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.
Yes we can heal this nation.
Yes we can repair this world.
Yes we can. Si Se Puede
(yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can…)

We know the battle ahead will be long,
but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way,
nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change.
We want change!
(We want change! We want change! We want change…)

We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics who will only grow louder and more dissonant.
We’ve been asked to pause for a reality check.
We’ve been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope.
But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope. We want change!
(We want change! I want change! We want change! I want change…)

The hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA;
we will remember that there is something happening in America;
that we are not as divided as our politics suggests;
that we are one people;
we are one nation;
and together, we will begin the next great chapter in America’s story with three words that will ring from coast to coast;
from sea to shining sea – Yes. We. Can.
(yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can…)
